INFORMATION: Launching of the WOSM Services Platform (Regional Circular 15 2018)

The European Scout Committee is pleased to add its excitement to the announcement made by the Secretary General on the soft launch of WOSM’s Service Model on 18 June 2018.

In a letter adressed to the National Scout Organisations (NSOs) and National Scout Assocations (NSAs) member organisation in the European Region, the Committee expresses its hopes that the content of the online platform, WOSM Services Platform will assist NSO/NSAs in determining what services are available and the supporting resources they can use.

INVITATION to attend SCOUTARIUM 2018 in Georgia (Regional Information)

In a spirit of solidarity with our friends in the Eurasia Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) we are pleased to send you an invitation the Adjara Organization of the Georgian Scout Movement asked us to share widely: two Scouts of each NSO in the European Scout Region are invited to attend SCOUTARIUM 2018, the Centenary Jamboree of Adjaran Scouting taking place in Batumi, Georgia, from 14 to 21 July 2018.

Communication and Partnerships Intern Needed

The European Scout Region is looking for a Communication and Partnerships intern who will support the area of external communication by contributing to our bimonthly newsletter and proposing articles for various social media platforms. The intern will also be expected to represent Scouting  in external meetings , support the development of funding applications by developing first draft projects and helping collecting relevant information from external partners.

Duration: 6 months

Beginning: 12 Feb 2018

Ending: 08 Aug 2018

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Profile:

  • University degree in law, communication, social or political sciences
  • Good capacity to work in a team
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good level of English is needed – any other languages are an asset
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office and social media networks

Call for a Communications and External Relations Officer

The World Scout Bureau – Europe Support Centre, Brussels, part of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), is seeking a Communications and External Relations Officer.

The person hired will support the Communication of the European Scout Region together with a group of volunteers working on communication, and will provide support to National Scout Organisations in their own communication. The Communications and External Relations Officer will also support the External relations area through the organisation of visibility events and other representation activities towards the European Institutions. The person will work under the supervision of the Director for External Relations and Funding. A limited amount of travel within Europe will be required.

If you are interested, make sure that your application (including a letter of motivation and a curriculum vitae in English) reaches the Europe Support Centre no later than 17.00 CET on Monday 15 May 2017. Shortlisted candidates will be advised by Wednesday 17 May 2017 and interviews will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 23,24 May 2017 for a start date as soon as possible, depending on the availability of the selected person.
