Communication and Partnerships Intern Needed

The European Scout Region is looking for a Communication and Partnerships intern who will support the area of external communication by contributing to our bimonthly newsletter and proposing articles for various social media platforms. The intern will also be expected to represent Scouting  in external meetings , support the development of funding applications by developing first draft projects and helping collecting relevant information from external partners.

Duration: 6 months

Beginning: 12 Feb 2018

Ending: 08 Aug 2018

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Profile:

  • University degree in law, communication, social or political sciences
  • Good capacity to work in a team
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good level of English is needed – any other languages are an asset
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office and social media networks

What is the impact of Scouting and Guiding on youth development, society and the economy? Is there any link between employability and volunteering in a Scout or Guide association? Several studies on the impact of Scouting and Guiding in Europe show that we have a very positive influence on youth employability, on society and on the economy – that is to say that if we think about education as a form of investment of society and individuals, Scout and Guide associations offer a high return on investment. Nonetheless one of the biggest challenges that Guide and Scout Associations face in Europe is access to sufficient funding and the right funding to cover the costs incurred to deliver life‐changing non‐formal education and volunteering opportunities for young people.
