Event Invitation | Overture Network – Autumn 2016 Meeting

As the Overture Diversity Network’s Steering Group, we have the pleasure to invite you to the next Overture Diversity Network Meeting in Dublin, Ireland. This meeting will be hosted by Catholic Guides of Ireland (CGI), from 14 to 16 October 2016.

The steering group and hosting team have planned a great weekend around our subject of ethnic and social diversity and disability. The meeting will be an opportunity to meet open- and likeminded Guides and Scouts working in this area across the European Regions of WOSM and WAGGGS.

We very much hope to see all of you, new and old, networking to make the two European Regions and their member organisations more open and inclusive.

Update:
The Overture Diversity Network’s Steering Group is pleased to announce that some funding was received from WAGGGS to assist in the running costs of the meeting. The participation fee is therefore lowered from EUR 95.00 to EUR 80.00.

“Crossing Borders Through Water” – European Sea Scout Seminar 2016

Every two years the informal network of Sea Scout and Sea Guide branches of National Scout Associations (NSAs) and Member Organisation (MOs) of the European Regions of WOSM and WAGGGS organise a European Sea Scout Seminar. Hosted by Związek Harcerstwa Polskiego (ZHP, the Polish Scouts and Guides), EuroSea13 will take place at the Polish Sea Scout Centre in Puck from 21 to 25 September 2016.

“Promoting Scouting and Strengthening its Public Image” is the title of the first ever Network Meeting of External Communication Commissioners in the European Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). It stems from a need expressed by individual NSOs and from the importance of the topic of public image of Scouting as perceived by the European Scout Region.

The Network Meeting of Commissioners involved in the management of adult resources is one of the well-known and successful networking opportunities for Leaders (on national level) of National Scout Organisations (NSOs) and National Scout Associations (NSAs) of the European Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).

Formerly known under the acronym TCNM (for: Training Commissioners Network Meeting) it has now updated its name to MOVIS (for: Management of Volunteers in Scouting) in order to refelct the wider area of interest of the network, which is going beyond training.

Next year will see the sixth edition of this event at the DPSG Westernohe Scout Centre in Germany from 26 to 29 May 2016, where issues of common interest for National Commissioner and other Leaders directly involved at the national level  in supporting the personal development of adults in their association.
