The Scouting for All – Training on “How to involve young people from excluded groups?” is the second activity supported by the CoE – EYF. The training will take place in Kapralův Mlyn, near Brno, Czech Republic, 3 – 6 September 2014.
The European Scout Region (ESR) applied successfully to the Council of Europe – European Youth Foundation for the implementation of its Work plan on Diversity & Inclusion. The support of the EYF provides the financial capacity to the ESR to strengthen and consolidate its mission and vision through an effective and efficient implementation of the Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Objective within as many as possible NSOs and local groups. The project allows a better reach out to NSOs at national, regional and local level and more important, the financial support will permit to effectively empower young people from excluded groups.
Today, the majority of the NSOs are challenged to be more open and accessible to all segments of the society. To allow the ESR to implement and roll out an effective and efficient Diversity & Inclusion work plan including the provision and dissemination of a quality consultancy services to NSOs. For NSOs the aim is to be more open and accessible to all young people in particular towards Roma, migrants and other vulnerable and excluded groups by effectively implementing projects at local level.

During the training you will:
- Have the opportunity to learn and share experiences and methods to help improve the way you approach diversity and inclusion.
- Get inputs from expert trainers and other participants to help you strengthen your own understanding and competence of diversity and inclusion.
- Based on what you will learn during the training, you will start developing and implement your own project on diversity and inclusion.
- Have opportunity to work on diversity in an international and friendly environment that encourages you to work and have fun with scouts from all over Europe.
Objectives
By the end of the training, the participants will have:
- Developed a common understanding of the Diversity & Inclusion concept of the European Scout Region and identified benefits of Diversity and Inclusion strategies
- Discovered why and how they want to develop a Diversity and Inclusion strategy in their NSO/NSA and understood how to overcome barriers
- Learned methods on how to approach targeted groups and better understand their culture and needs
- Learned and shared concrete ideas/examples and written one concrete project idea to be implemented within their own NSO/NSA.
