Don’t miss this opportunity to meet your colleagues from other organisations and share experiences, challenges, best practices and questions in unique Scouting environment at Gilwell Park, London. Meeting is hosted by The Scout Association of the United Kingdom and will take place from 16 to 17 November 2011.
The aim of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for senior staff in Associations to come together and share experiences, challenges, best practices and questions. It is not a training event. The target audience is the senior professional leadership of Associations at the level of Chief Executive or equivalent and their immediate deputies.
The meeting is “owned” by the participants who contribute to the agenda through their own experiences, identifying specific inputs and sourcing external contributors it this is thought appropriate. The motivation to participate is to meet with peers and enjoy their support in problem solving and dealing with the challenges and successes of senior management.
At the previous meeting some suggestions for the programme were:
- data and knowledge retention and transfer
- youth involvement and mentoring

Practical Details
The venue is Gilwell Park, Chingford, London. A short factsheet on how to arrive to Chingford is attached – in English. Please make your travel arrangements accordingly. Pick-ups can be arranged from Chingford Station. A contact telephone number will be provided in due course. A taxi service also operates at Chingford Station.
The participation fee is EUR 180 and this covers accommodation (1 night), lunches, dinner and refreshment during the meeting. This should be paid in cash at the meeting. Additional nights accommodation is EUR 75 per night.
The meeting will begin at 10.30 am on Wednesday, 16 November 2011, and end at 14.00 pm on Thursday, 17 November 2010.
Please note that no travel grants are directly available for this event but you may contact your appropriate Regional Office to discuss other possibilities.
If you require a visa, please provide all the necessary information on the booking form. On completion of the registration form, our hosts will issue a letter of invitation.
The meeting will be conducted in English. On past events participants have facilitated support for other
languages.
How to apply
Please complete the attached application form and return it no later than Monday, 17 October 2011 to the WOSM – European Regional Office. The meeting will go ahead if there are at least 10 participants. Please do not book travel until you have received confirmation that the event will proceed.
