Deadline prolonged to 28 November 2011
In order to assist in the implementation of resolution Society 7 adopted at the 8th European Guide and Scout Conference the Europe Region organised a meeting in 1996 for those Scouts and Guides involved in influencing Youth Policy on behalf of their organisations in a National Youth Council and those representing European Guiding or Scouting in the European youth structures. As a result of that first meeting it was decided to organise a similar meeting annually – 2011 will see the 16th meeting.
Aims and Content
- Gather ideas and exchange experiences of representing Guiding and Scouting in national youth platforms;
- Promote the agenda of Guide and Scout associations in National Youth Councils (NYCs);
- Enable NYC representatives to building their own networks for mutual support, and find partners on specific topics of interest to them;
- Increase understanding of Guiding and Scouting in NYCs and the external world;
- Understand the role of Guiding and Scouting in the development of youth policy at national and European level, and the links between European and national issues.
