Call for organisations wishing to host the Academy 2016

The Academy is a joint event of WOSM and WAGGGS working in partnership at European level, with key participation of volunteers and staff from both the Europe Region WAGGGS and the European Scout Region.

Interested associations, NSOs or MOs, are requested to indicate their interest by submitting a short paper which addresses the points below.

The proposal on the successful candidature will be made by the Coordinating Group of the WAGGGS/WOSM Regional Committees, and agreed by the two committees in time to be announced at the Academy 2015 which will be held in Porto, Portugal.

The deadline for applications is Friday 4 October 2015, by mid-day, 12noon, CET. Applications should be submitted to europe@scout.org and europe@europe.wagggsworld.org

Job Opportunity at the World Scout Bureau – Europe Support Centre, Brussels: External Relations and Communications Officer

The World Scout Bureau – Europe Support Centre, Brussels of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is seeking an External Relations and Communications Officer to support the external relations and communication area of WOSM in Europe. The person hired  will support the development and implementation of youth policies in Europe, contribute to raising the profile of WOSM to the European Institutions under the supervision of the Director for External Relations and Funding. The successful applicant will be at the service of all National Scout Organisations in Europe to strengthen their external relations and advocacy as well as supporting the communications function of the European Region of WOSM and the organisation of events and activities related to external relations area. A limited amount of travel within Europe will be required.

If you are interested, make sure that your application (including a letter of motivation and a curriculum vitae in English) reaches the Europe Support Centre no later than 17.00 CEST on Tuesday 23 June 2015. Shortlisted candidates will be advised by 25 June and interviews will be held in Brussels, Belgium,  on Wednesday 1 July 2015 for a start date preferably of 1 September 2015 depending on the availability of the selected person.

Europe Region NLDP Flagship Train the trainer event– less than one month to go!

On the 27 June 31 participants from 26 different associations in 22 different countries around Europe will meet in Brussels to participate at the leadership development ‘Train the Trainer’ NLDP (National Leadership Development Programme) event organized by the Europe Region.

This event responds to the 34th World Conference decision, to deliver elements of the WAGGGS Leadership Development Programme (WLDP) at a National level to the member organisations.

Following recent changes in the composition of the European Scout Committee and the staffing of the European Scout Office, the Committee Contact System of the European Scout Region of WOSM has been reviewed and updated.

Regional Circular 07 2015 – Information & Invitation: Fundraisers Network Meeting 2015

The second Fundraisers Network Meeting of the European Scout Region of WOSM is organised to offer NSOs and NSAs an opportunity to share best practices, challenges and needs in the field of fundraising, with a particular focus on Corporate Social Responsibility.

The event will takt place at the Spejdercenter Holmen in Copenhagen (Denmark) from 19 to 21 June 2015.
