CALL FOR BIDS TO HOST THE “IC FORUM 2019″ (Joint Comunication 03 2018)

The European Regional Committees of WAGGGS and WOSM have agreed that there will be an International Commissioners’ Forum in 2019 with a number of objectives including:

  • Providing an opportunity for sharing experiences between International Commissioners;
  • Provide a platform to offer induction training to new International Commissioners;
  • To provide an opportunity to review progress on work resulting from the strategic partnership and to inform planning of future work in partnership;
  • To stimulate new ideas, tools and services.

To fulfil these objectives, the Committees wish to open a call for bids to host the IC Forum 2019.

Deadline for submission of candidatures is 12h00 CEST on 18 May 2018, by which time interested parties should have returned to the two Regional Offices the duly completed Bidding Questionnaire in English or in French.

CALL FOR INITIAL STAKEHOLDERS “Go Scout, Go Guide Abroad!” (Joint Communication 02 2018)

With Joint Communication 02 2018, the Joint Working Group “Go Scout & Go Guide Abroad” of the European Regions of WOSM and WAGGGS (previously known as “Erascout/Eraguide”, set up as a result of a recommendation of the 15th European Guide and Scout Conference), would like to:

  • inform you about the progress made so far;
  • and invite you to participate in the process of building an online tool for Scouts and Guides to connect in order to facilitate youth mobility (in collaboration with Scouterna, Sweden).

Joint Communication 13 2017 – Event Invitation: Chief Volunteers’ Network Meeting 2018

The European Scout Region of the World Organnization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and the Europe Region WAGGGS jointly organise the next Chief Volunteers’ Network Meeting in February 2018 and invite chief volunteers and persons holding similar positions in their Scout or Guide associations to participate. It will take place at the Kapralův mlýn Scout Environmental Education Centre, near Brno (CZ), from 9 to 11 February 2018.

The Meeting aims to provide a space for Chief Volunteers to meet, to network and to share good practice and ideas. It builds on networking events held at Regional Conferences and other events when there was a clear desire to find opportunities for these important volunteers to share and mix with their peers.

Joint Communication 13 2017 provides you with all relevant information and also contains the link to the online registration form. Please make sure that those interested complete this form before the deadline 6 January 2018.

The 2017 Network Meeting of Guide and Scout External Representatives

The 2017 WAGGGS & WOSM Network Meeting for Guide and Scout External Representatives will take place in Malta from 8-11 November 2017. This exciting event is an excellent opportunity for young people that are starting to work on advocacy or external relations within your MO/NSO to develop their knowledge and gain skills that they can apply to their work.

The Academy 2017

The Academy 2017 is a unique Scout and Guide event designed to enable participants to get high quality training and networking opportunities around the core priorities of the European Regions of WAGGGS and WOSM. The event is open to anyone holding a role at national level in a WAGGGS or WOSM Association, ranging from members of working groups up to Chief Commissioners.

Most Associations are likely to send participants that hold positions in specific areas of work including management (as Commissioners or board members), education or training (those responsible for programme/education/training), communication or representation (for instance in branding or advocacy).

The Academy 2017 will take take place in Esztergom, Hungary, from 31 October to 5 November 2017, hosted by Magyar Cserkészszövetség (the Hungarian Scout Association) and Magyar Cserkészlány Szövetség (the Association of Hungarian Girl Guides).
