Chief Volunteers’ Network Meeting 2017
The European Scout Region of the World Organnization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and the Europe Region WAGGGS jointly organise the next Chief Volunteers’ Network Meeting in February 2018 and invite chief volunteers and persons holding similar positions in their Scout or Guide associations to participate. It will take place at the Kapralův mlýn Scout Environmental Education Centre, near Brno (CZ), from 9 to 11 February 2018.
The Meeting aims to provide a space for Chief Volunteers to meet, to network and to share good practice and ideas. It builds on networking events held at Regional Conferences and other events when there was a clear desire to find opportunities for these important volunteers to share and mix with their peers. It is a non-formal opportunity to share experiences and strategies, networking and chances to make new contacts and find mutual support.
VENUE
Kapralův mlýn Scout Environmental Education Centre, some 10km north-east of Brno (CZ), with train/bus connections from Prague (2h40), Bratislava (1h30) and Vienna (2h05)
DATE
9-11 February 2018
The programme will start with dinner in the evening of Friday, 9 February, and conclude with lunch on Sunday, 11 February 2018
CALL FOR THEMES
Following the tradition from similar events in the past the themes addressed during the event will be based on suggestions coming from participants, including the sharing of best practices and how challenges are addressed.
If you plan to attend the event and would be willing to cover a specific theme, run a relevant session or feel there is the needs for a particular session, please get in touch with the europe@scout.org and europe@wagggs.org
ONLINE REGISTRATION
Chief Volunteers and other persons holding similar positions in their Guide or Scout association are invite to complete the online registration form before 6 Januray 2018.

Scouts & Guides I/O 2018
The intial dates which had been blocked for Scouts & Guides I/O 2018, which is an initiative of the ICT Network in the European Regions of WAGGGS and WOSM, could not be kept for technical reasons.
It is now planned to organise the event in Warsaw, Poland, most probably towards the end of March 2018. Exact venue and dates will be communicated in due course.
Participants meet other Scouts and Guides with an interest in information technology, information systems, communication technology and their application within Scouting and Guiding on léocal, regional and national levels.

Joint Call for Participants: The Academy 2017
The European Scout Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and the Europe Region of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) is pleased to call for participants for The Academy 2017, which is scheduled to take place in Eszterdom, Hungary, from 31 October to 5 November 2017, hosted by Magyar Cserkészszövetség (the Hungarian Scout Association) and Magyar Cserkészlány Szövetség (the Association of Hungarian Girl Guides).
What is The Academy?
The Academy is a unique Scout and Guide event designed to provide participants with high quality training and networking opportunities around the core priorities of the European Regions of WAGGGS and WOSM.
Who should attend The Academy?
The event is open to everyone holding a position at National or Regional Level in any of our Associations, from members of particular working groups to Chief Commissioners.
What are the topics at The Academy?
During the event, participants will be able to choose a learning pathways for the five categories mentioned below. We would like to encourage participants to choose from a variety of sessions per day (ideally from the same of similar pathways), composing their own training plan to match their position and particular needs. A broad range of sessions dealing with different areas of work will be offered simultaneously, with enough on offer to make the event interesting for everyone.
